Salisbury Steak

Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

  • Boeuf haché
  • Chapelure
  • Sauce Worcestershire
  • Moutarde de Dijon
  • Sauce demi-glace

Also needed

  • 1 egg
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) of olive oil
  • 2 onions, chopped

Optional

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) of fresh parsley, chopped

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the beef with the breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and egg. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Form 4 patties, each 2 cm (3/4 in.) thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side and then set them aside on a plate.
  4. Brown the onion in the same frying pan over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with parsley before serving if desired.
