One-Pot Beef Penne

  • Boeuf haché
    450 g (1 lb) medium ground beef
  • Pennes
    750 ml (3 cups) penne noodles
  • Sauce tomate
    500 ml (2 cups) fresh herb tomato sauce
  • Bouillon de boeuf
    625 ml (2½ cups) beef stock
  • Mozzarina
    200 g (about ½ lb) fresh mozzarella, sliced

Also needed

  • 1 onion, chopped


  1. Heat a little olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook the ground beef and onion for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking up the meat with the wooden spoon, until it is no longer pink.
  2. Add the penne noodles, tomato sauce and beef stock. Season with salt and pepper, and stir. Bring to a boil.
  3. Stir, and then cover and cook the pasta al dente for 15 to 20 minutes over low heat, stirring frequently and adding beef stock as needed.
  4. Top the pasta with fresh mozzarella before serving.
