Watermelon Frosted Champagne

Watermelon Frosted Champagne

Ingredients

  • Melon d'eau
    1 small watermelon
  • Jus de citron
    30 ml (2 tbsp) lemon juice
  • champagne
    500 ml (2 cups) Champagne
  • Grenadine
    30 ml (2 tbsp) grenadine syrup
  • Sucre
    60 ml (1/4 cup) crystallized sugar

Also needed

  • 1 lemon wedge

Preparation

  1. Cut the watermelon into cubes (you should have about 875 ml – 3 ½ cups). Place the cubes in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. In a blender, put the watermelon cubes. Blend until they turn into a slush-like mixture.
  3. Add the lemon juice, Champagne and grenadine syrup to the watermelon preparation. Blend for another 15 seconds.
  4. Wet the rim of the glasses with the lemon wedge. Pour the crystallized sugar into a small plate. Dip the rim of each glass in the sugar.
  5. Pour the cocktail into the glasses.
