Honey Mustard Meatballs

Honey Mustard Meatballs

These quick and tasty meatballs are perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • Boeuf haché
    450 g (1 lb) lean ground beef
  • Flocons d'avoine
    60 ml (¼ cup) rolled oats
  • Moutarde à l'ancienne
    30 ml (2 tbsp) whole-grain mustard
  • Sauce demi-glace
    1 can (284 ml) demi-glace sauce or beef gravy
  • Miel
    15 ml (1 tbsp) honey

Also needed

  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil

Optional

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) parsley, chopped

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the onion, egg, rolled oats and 15 ml (1 tbsp) of the mustard. Add the parsley if desired. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Form 16 meatballs with about 45 ml (3 tbsp) of the meat preparation for each one.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the demi-glace sauce. Incorporate the rest of the mustard and the honey.
  5. Cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
