Ingredients

  • Saucisse italienne
    450 g (1 lb) Italian sausages, sliced
  • Riz blanc à grains longs
    250 ml (1 cup) Parboiled long grain white rice
  • Bouillon de poulet
    Chicken stock 625 ml (2½ cups)
  • demi-poivron
    3 bell pepper halves, various colours, diced
  • Sauce tomate
    125 ml (½ cup) Tomato sauce

Also needed

  • ½ red onion, chopped

Optional

  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) parsley, chopped

Preparation

  1. Heat a little olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Sear the sausage rounds for 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the rice, chicken stock, peppers, tomato sauce, red onion, and parsley, if desired. Season with pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Cover and cook for 15 to 18 minutes over low heat, until the rice is cooked.
